The Prefecture of Grevena is a region blessed by nature, a land of incomparable natural beauty that offers unforgettable experiences to visitors year-round. The National Part of Valia Kalda.
The ski center of Vassilitsa (the only ski center that retains snow through May and has a snow-board arena.
Religious monuments: The prefecture is strewn with Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches and monasteries with unique murals and icons.
The stone bridges: Significant works-monuments “nailed” on the banks of rivers, merging harmoniously with the natural environment.
Visitors can experience unique escapes:
by doing rafting on the two major rivers of the prefecture, rivers Aliakmon and Venetikos, adventure trips in Orliaka, Smolika, Vounassa, 4X4 routes, mountain biking, dirt-road motorcycling, rock climbing at Spilaio and Aetia, lose themselves on the verdant landscapes on a horse in the company of the members of the Equestrian Association.
Visitors should not miss:
The “Anakatosaria” during Carnival or the “Mushroom” events at Spanos Bridge in August. These two events attract thousands of visitors. The traditional summer feasts are another “must” see.
