The Athletic Centre
Karpenisi is the location of the largest athletic centre in Greece, capable of hosting a large number of athletic events. National soccer and basketball teams, track champions and Olympic medalists are only few of those who have used its state-of-the-art athletic installations to complete their training ahead of their remarkable performance in European and World championships. The contemporary Swim Training Centre in Karpenisi has 10 lanes each one measuring 25 metres long, boasting excellent infrastructure for hosting major athletic events.

Evritanian mountains: One step closer to God
Strewn with monasteries and Byzantine monuments, evidence of an undying Orthodox faith, Evritania provides a solemn environment for praying and contact with the Divine.
One of the most important monasteries, the Proussos Monastery, attracts thousands of visitors on 23 August each year to attend the local festival. Another significant monument in Evritania is the Church and Monastery of Panagia (Virgin Mary) in Domiani, dedicated to the Dormition (Assumption) of Virgin Mary celebrated on 15 August every year. Near the road taking to Agrinio is the Monastery of Tatarnas which was built around 1555. Built half-way between the villages of Epiniana and Agrafa in a cave inside a granite rock lies the Monastery of Panagia Stana of Agrafa.
